Ka’ab al-Ahbar was a notable convert to Islam from a Jewish background. The Sahaba, companions of the Prophet (saw), used to ask him about the old tales of Bani Isra’eel (Isra’iliyyat) because he knew the old Jewish history.
It is important to be aware that Ka’ab wasn’t a major or significant hadith narrator. There are no narrations of him in Sahihayn (Bukhari & Muslim).

Not only the Sunnis took knowledge from Ahlulbayt but in the history of Islam from early times to modern day there have been thousands of scholars and Imams from the Ahlulbayt among the Ahlu-Sunnah wal-jam’ah – who constitute the vast majority of Muslims.
Unlike the minority Shia sects – the Ahlu-Sunnah did not restrict the Ahlulbayt to 5 or 7 or 12 etc people and claim only they have the knowledge rather they took knowledge from whoever were the scholar and Imam from the Ahlulbayt.
Here, I would like share some books that lists major Sunni scholars from past to modern times who are from the Ahlulbayt – keep in mind they are major scholars not random scholars. Sadly, most of the works are only available in Arabic but fortunately there is an English translation of one of the books that list the names and biographies of the Hanafi scholars from the Ahlulbayt. It can be read here:
Note: The rest of the books that cover the scholars from the Maliki, Hanbali and Shafi’i schools are the following:
أعلام الحنابلة من أهل البيت
A’alam Al-Hanabila min Ahl Al-Bayt (Hanbali scholars from Ahlul-Bayt) by Mohammad Yusuf Al-Muzaini.

First time a Sunni website has been launched dedicated to analysing and exposing the authenticity of Nahjul-Balagha , which means “the peak of eloquence”.
With great pleasure we announce the official opening of http://Nahjul-Balagha.net , the first Sunni website dedicated analysing and exposing the authenticity of the famous book Nahjul-Balagha, called by many Shia the “sister of the Quran”. The website also contains other useful material such the authentic quotes of Ali bin abi Talib from Sunni sources etc.
