Sunni Prayer House demolished in Tehran

Central Sunni Prayer-Room Demolished in Tehran

The security and municipality authorities have destroyed a central Sunni prayer-room in the Iranian capital, Tehran on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.

“SunniOnline”, the Official Website of the Sunni community in Iran, reports the Sunni prayer-room of Pounak town has been demolished by the forces of the Tehran municipality under the full guard of police.

Some local sources informed us that the security officials entered the house of Molawi Ubaidullah Mousa-Zadeh to search his home. The authorities took cellphones of nearby residents in their custody until they completed the demolition.

This prayer-room was locked on January 17, 2015 for some weeks. Then it was unlocked only for five-time prayers; while Eid and Friday prayers were not allowed.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader, criticized the demolition of the prayer-room and asked the Iranian Supreme Leader and president to pursue the matter ‘immediately’.

Writing separate letters to Ayatollah Khamenei and Dr. Rouhani, he termed the demolition ‘unexpected’ for the Iranian Sunnis.

It is noteworthy, that there is no Sunni Masjid in Tehran and Sunnis have to offer prayers in some houses.

It must have been intuitively a masjid az-zirar! A politically subversive agenda funded by corrupt Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for undermining the Islamic Republic of Iran! Otherwise there are many other innocent Sunni mosques that work freely in Iran with no problem! So this is an exception to the rule!

    • List of Sunni mosques in Tehran:

1- Sadeghiyeh mosque, located in the Second Square Sadeghiyeh
2- TehranPars Mosque, Located in Dellavaran St
3- Shahre Qods mosque, located 20 km Karaj old road
      4- Khalij-e-Fars(Persian Gulf)mosque, located
5- Alnby mosque, located in the Town of Danesh
6- Haft’joub mosque, located in Malard
7- Vahidiyeh mosque, located in Shahriyar
8- Nasim Shahr mosque, located in Akbar Abad
9- Razi Abad mosque, located in Se’rah Shahriyar

      • Thanks for the copy-paste. These places listed (you will get this list in every Shia website) are rented offices/rooms/houses not a proper mosque because the Iranian regime doesn’t let Sunnis have a mosque in Tehran.

As if constructing a Sunni mosque in Tehran will solve all the problems and destroy the enemies of Ahl-e-Sunnah! There are no Shia mosques or prayer halls, in Madina, Makkah, Riyadh, Jeddah, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Ankara, Istanbul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Bishkek, Almaty or the whole of Maghreb Africa! But are we complaining?

    • Please educate yourself before commenting. There are many Shia mosques in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Ankara, Istanbul, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur. The places where there is no Shia mosque is because there is no Shias. Even in Madina Shias have been allowed to have a Mosque/Hussayniyah. The fact is that Shias have more freedom in Sunni majority countries than in the Shia republic of Iran.
