Shia Scholar: There are no narrations with the names of 12 Imams

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

Shia scholar of Hadith Muhammad Baqir al-Behbudi writes in “Ma`rifat al-Hadith” pg.172:

[And you (reader) now know after the research on “al-Shudhudh `an Nizam al-Imamah” that the narrations about the general identity of the Imams such as the narration of the Tablet (1) and others, are all fabricated during the time of al-Ghaybah (2) and al-Hayrah (3) and some short time before it. For if these narrations were available with the Imami Shia, they would not have disagreed so openly and greatly about the identity of the Imams, nor would the biggest personalities and narrators of Hadith have faced much confusion for long years, nor would they have needed to quickly write books proving the Ghaybah to unveil the confusion from the hearts of the nation in such great numbers.]

Footnotes:
(1) Narrations of the Tablet are those when Jabir (ra) walks in on Fatima (ra) and sees a tablet with the names of the Imams on it.
(2) al-Ghaybah is the period of occultation of the Shia 12th Imam when he was never seen nor heard from by anyone except four people and only for a couple of years, then followed by the greater occultation.
(3) al-Hayrah is the great confusion that struck the followers of the Imami branch of Tashayyu` when the news of their Imam stopped reaching them after the death of the fourth emissary and lots of them abandoned the Madhab.

Misconceptions about the Jahiliya Period of Omar

Misconceptions about the pre-Islamic or Jahiliya period (days of ignorance) of Omar ibn al-Khattāb

Alsalam alaykum,

I recently realized that there are two really famous tales about Omar in the time of his jahiliya. These stories have been told to me when I was much younger and I just recently realized that they are not built upon any narrations. The first is that he killed his daughter by burying her alive and the second is that he worshiped an idol made out of dates. These narrations cannot be found in any of the reliable books of hadith or history and is therefore false.

Abū Dharr is a Sunni, not a Shi’ee

Alsalam alaykum wa rahmatullah,

This is a challenge to our forum friend Shabeeh Abu Thar It appears as the brother is very fond of this great Sahabi, which is strange in my opinion, because Ahlulsunnah have a monopoly on Abu Thar. We have authentic praise of him, we have an authentic history of his conversion to Islam, we have an authentic history of his last days, we have authentic narrations by him, and we have authentic religious rulings by him.

On the other hand, I have a major doubt that there is any authentic praise for Abu Thar, nor do I know of any authentic history of his life, or any of his narrations. From what I recall, there is perhaps one or two narrations by him in Shi’ee books, both of which are weak. I also know for a fact that there are no religious rulings by him.

In other words, the love that brother Shabeeh Abu Thar (شبيه أبو ذر) has for Abu Thar is based on one of two things:

1- The Sunni Abu Thar,

2- A few scattered around reports by weak narrators about an imaginary Abu Thar.

My challenge is as follows to the brother:

1- Produce one authentic report from Abu Thar from Shia books according to Shia standards.
2- Produce one authentic religious ruling by Abu Thar from Shia books according to Shia standards.
3- Produce one authentic praise about Abu Thar from Shia books according to Shia standards.

If you fail in any of these, then please leave the dark side and accept Ahlulsunnah as the preservers of the deen (or at least change your username).

Ja`far Sadiq says `Ali (ra) sent SALAT upon `Umar (ra)

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

Here’s an authentic narration:

[Ahmad bin Muhammad abu Ja`far al-`Atiqi said: abu al-Hasan al-Daraqutni `Ali bin `Umar al-Hafiz al-Baghdadi told us, abu Hamid Muhammad bin Haroun al-Hadrami told us, Ya`qoub bin Ibrahim al-Dawraqi told us, Suffiyan ibn `Uyaynah told us, from Ja`far bin Muhammad, from his father Muhammad bin `Ali, from Jabir ibn `Abdullah al-Ansari that he said: `Ali told `Umar bin al-Khattab while he was on his death-bed: “Salla-Allahu `Alayka, and he made Du`a for him.” Suffiyan said: They said to Ja`far: “Isn’t it said that one cannot send Salat except on the Prophet (SAWS)?” he replied: “This is how I heard it.”]

Shia Hadiths say Jafar al-Sadiq used to add words to the Quran

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

according to al-Kafi, Ja`far al-Sadiq (rah) used to add words to the Qur’an.

al-Kafi vol 8 pg 290, Authenticated by Majlisi 26/316:

[`Ali bin Ibrahim from his father from `Ali bin Asbat from `Ali bin abi Hamzah from abu Baseer from abu `Abdillah (as):

{And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited with the authority of the devils during the reign of Solomon.}

And he also recited:

{Ask the Children of Israel how many a sign of evidence We have given them. So from them is he who believed, and from them is he who rejected, and from them is he who affirmed, and from them is he who changed, And whoever exchanges the favor of Allah [for disbelief] after it has come to him – then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.}]

Correct verses are as follows:
{And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon.} (Qur’an 2:102)

and:

{Ask the Children of Israel how many a sign of evidence We have given them. And whoever exchanges the favor of Allah [for disbelief] after it has come to him – then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.} (Qur’an 2:211)

al-Kafi vol 8 pg 184, authenticated by Majlisi 26/75:

[`Ali bin Ibrahim from his father from `Ali bin Asbat from `Ali bin abi Hamzah from abu Baseer from abu `Abdillah (as):

{And if We had decreed upon them, “Kill yourselves and submit to the Imam in (full, willing) submission or Leave your homes,” they would not have done it, except for a few of them. And if the opponents did what they were instructed to do, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith].}

and in this verse:

{and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged in the matter of the leadership, and submit to Allah their obedience in [full, willing] submission.}]

Correct verses are as follows:
{And if We had decreed upon them, “Kill yourselves” or “Leave your homes,” they would not have done it, except for a few of them. But if they had done what they were instructed, it would have been better for them and a firmer position [for them in faith].}
(Qur’an 4:66)

And:
{But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.}
(Qur’an 4:65)

al-Kafi vol 8 pg 205, authenticated by Majlisi 26/118:

[`Ali bin Ibrahim from his father from ibn abi `Umayr from Hammad bin `Uthman that he said: I recited to abu `Abdullah (as) {Two just men from among you} he said it is {A just man among you}: “This is from the mistakes of the writers.”]

Correct verse is as follows:
{O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram. And whoever of you kills it intentionally – the penalty is an equivalent from sacrificial animals to what he killed, as judged by two just men among you as an offering [to Allah] delivered to the Ka’bah, or an expiation: the feeding of needy people or the equivalent of that in fasting, that he may taste the consequence of his deed. Allah has pardoned what is past; but whoever returns [to violation], then Allah will take retribution from him. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.} (Qur’an 5:95)

al-Kafi vol 1 pg 391, authenticated by Majlisi 4/283:

[`Ali bin Ibrahim from his father from ibn abi `Umayr from ibn Uthaynah from Zurarah or Burayd from abi Ja`far (as) that he said: “Allah addressed Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen in his book.” I said: “Where?” he (as) said:”In his saying

{And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful. But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, judge concerning that which they agreed on, that if Allah put Muhammad to death they shall never return this matter to bani Hashim and then find within themselves no discomfort from your judgement on them to either kill or forgive [them] and that they submit in [full, willing] submission.}”]

Correct verse is as follows:
{And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allah. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful.} (Qur’an 4:64)

{But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.} (Qur’an 4:65)
What do all these have in common? `Ali bin Ibrahim and his trusty father Ibrahim bin Hashim al-Qummi ; )

As for those who will say anything regarding ibn abi Hamzah, al-Tusi said he was reliable in al-`Iddah.

`Ali (ra) tells his children to call `Umar (ra) their “Uncle”

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

in al-Sunan al-Kubra we read:

[…al-Hasan bin al-Hasan bin `Ali bin abi Talib narrated: from his father al-Hasan ibn `Ali: that `Umar ibn al-Khattab (ra) asked `Ali (ra) for the hand of Umm Kulthoum, so `Ali (ra) said: “She is too young for this.” so `Umar (ra) said: I heard the messenger of Allah say: “every cause and relation will be cut on the day of judgement except for my cause and relation” So I liked to have a relation to the Prophet (SAWS). So `Ali (ra) said to Hasan and Husayn: “Get your uncle married.” they said (jokingly): “She is a woman from among the women now, she can pick for herself.” so `Ali (ra) stood up angrily (and wanted to leave) but al-Hasan (ra) grabbed his clothes and said: “O dear father, we cannot bear your anger.” so they married her to him.]

They believed he was the Imam…but he died.

al-Salamu `Aleykum,

You all know what the Imami Shia scholars agreed on, that the one who doesn’t believe in all twelve Imams is NOT a believer  nor is the one who adds an additional Imam, and they keep talking about how the narrations are Mutawatir about the Imams and that we Muslims hid these narrations ect…

Well check out this additional nonsense from their leader and renowned scholar al-Imam alSayyid Muhsin al-Ameen, in his book “A`iyaan al-Shiah” 10/5:

imam_but_died

Quote

[9920 – al-Sayyid abu Ja`far Muhammad son of Imam `Ali abi al-Hasan al-Hadi:
died around 252 AH.
Of great value, the Shia believed that he was the Imam after his father (as), so when he died, his father then pointed to his brother abu Muhammad al-Hasan al-Zakee (as) …]

Where are the Mutawatir texts!? how can the dummies believe that the Imam after `Ali al-Hadi was Muhammad, during the life of `Ali al-Hadi and that they only learn the truth AFTER his death!?
