Black clothes: Dress of Firon

Traditionally, the Shia rafida wear black clothes in the month of Muharram specially & even continue it in the month of shaban & almost 1/2 month of Rabi ul awwal. [i.e. almost 2.5 islamic months]

In fact, during this month, it is considered Mustahabb (highly recommended) to do so. We find all rafidi Shia do wear black in certain parts of the year, including the Shia Ulema (scholarship) and Maraje’ (high scholars).

There is obviously nothing wrong with wearing black clothes, and the Ahlus Sunnah has nothing in their books which forbids it. However, the Shia Hadith declare that Amir Al-Mumineen Ali (رضّى الله عنه) and Imam As-Sadiq (رضّى الله عنه) declared it Haram. And yet, we find the Shia scholars wearing black, as well as the Shia masses who do so out of a sense of religious obligation.

Why they wear this black clothes? Lets see imamic wordings from rafida sources:

And (narrator) asked al Sadiq(as) “About prayer in the hat/cap that’s black?” (Imam(as)) said “Don’t pray in it for it’s the clothing of the people of fire(hell).”

And said Amirul momineen in the course of giving knowledge to his companions: “Don’t wear black for it’s the clothing of Fir’aun (Pharoah).”

And Rasoolallah S.A.W. (pbuh) used to dislike black except three: The amama (turban) and the khuff and the kisa.

Shia Maraje’ have declared that wearing black is Mustahabb. On his official website, Grand Ayatollah Lankarani was asked if wearing black was Mustahabb, to which he replied:

“Since it [wearing black] is considered respecting the signs (of Allah), it has legal preference. Moreover, prominent scholars such as late Ayatollah al-Uzma Broujardi used to wear black…” (Source: Ayatollah Lankarani’s official website:: http://www.lankarani.org/

Even shia have hadiths on that: Shaykh Tabrizi in his brief risala on this topic mentions these:

Muhammad b. Ya`qub from `Ali b. Muhammad from Sahl b. Ziyad from Muhsin b. Ahmad from Abu `Abdullah: He said: I said to him: Can I pray in a black cap (qalanswa)? So he said: Do not pray in it, for it is the clothing of the people of the Fire.

Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn in “al-`Ilal” from his father from Muhammad b. Yahya from Sahl b. Ziyad from Muhammad b. Sulayman from a man from his father from Abu `Abdullah: He said: I said to him: Can I pray in a black cap? He said: Do not pray in it for it is the clothing of the people of the Fire.

Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn. He said: Amir al-Mu’mineen said in what he taught his companions: Do not wear black, for it is the clothing of Fir`awn.

From Isma`il b. Muslim from as-Sadiq said: Verily Allah revealed to a prophet from His prophets “Say to the believers: Do not wear the clothing of my enemies and do not eat the food of my enemies and do not take the ways (alt. trans.: travel the paths) of my enemies, for then you would be my enemies as they are my enemies.”
